What LEGO Elder Scrolls could look like…

Way back in September, we shared a link to some LEGO sets that were reminiscent of Fallout. This week, Senior Designer Kurt Kuhlmann pointed me to a thread in our forums where folks are discussing an Oblivion-inspired project using LEGOs. The project was created more than a year ago, but for those who haven’t seen it, it’s worth checking out. If you ask me, the creator did a fantastic job re-creating Oblivion.

To check out more information on the project, head to the creator’s website here.

Recent Fan Art

It’s been awhile since the last time we highlighted some new fan art on the blog, so I thought I’d give some shout outs to a few of our regular contributors.

Above you’ll find one of two Brotherhood of Steel 3D models that Rob Overall recently contributed to our Fan Art page. Having spoke to Rob, it sounds like he’s recently had a lot of free time, and it shows in his work. To see his work in motion, you can check out some videos he’s made using these models over on YouTube.

Ali Tunç sent us another one of his fantastic Fallout-inspired concept drawings. This one, called “The Reactor’s Defender,” is probably one of my favorite submissions to date. As always, you can find Ali’s work on his website.

Lastly, not too long ago, we got several Elder Scrolls-inspired artwork from Maya. All of the art is impressive, but this one, entitled Demented, I find particularly hypnotizing. For more of Maya’s work, check out her page here.

As always, if you’re interested in having your art up on the blog, send your submissions to bethblog@bethsoft.com.

This week’s Elder Scrolls mod interview is with William DeJeu, otherwise known as Lutemoth. Since joining the Elder Scrolls community, he’s become known for his conceptual drawings working with the Tamriel Rebuilt mod team. William, who lives in the Vancouver area, is a Scorpio, enjoys long walks on the beach, and his favorite color is transparent.

Let’s get to know Lutemoth a little better….

…our Fan Art section on the blog is continuing to grow. We’re continuing to get some pretty cool contributions from folks — for both The Elder Scrolls and Fallout (c’mon Trekkies…pick it up). The image above comes from Ali Tunç, who has contributed a few of his Fallout drawings.

If you’ve got some art to share, send us an email.

Spooktacular Work!

We’re two days away from Halloween, and I’ve noticed on a few blogs people that gaming enthusiasts are carving their favorite videogame characters onto their pumpkins (check out some of the examples from Kotaku). I’ve seen plenty of good ones across the internets, with the Weighed Companion Cube one over on Joystiq being my favorite…until now.

Over the weekend, Cameron Swartzell e-mailed me the Vault Boy pumpkin you see above. Definitely gets the “thumbs up!”Here’s another shot of it in the light. (more…)

Got Art?

Just thought I’d give a reminder about our Fan Art section of the blog (big ups to the work by Raven Hall).

Above is one of my favorite submissions, which arrived this week. Drawn by Fallout fan Emil Sellstöm, it’s simply titled “Fallout Guy.”

Fallout fan loves The Ink Spots…on his arm!

Ash pointed this out to me this morning. Looks like one devoted Fallout fan (Dr. Online) will forever be a member of the Brotherhood of Steel…as he show his Fallout love on his arm. Maybe this guy can be the next Peter Moore someday, who loved to show his devotion to Xbox games with his tattoos.

As you know, we’ve asked that you guys submit fan art for our blog. Over the weekend, I got some cool stuff from Elder Scrolls fan Raven Hall. These drawings are based on her interpretations of how the Daedra should look.

Above is her adaptation of Azura. Check out the Fan Art section on the right side to look at some of her other drawings.

Want your stuff in the Fan Art section? Just send an email with your JPEG files attached. We prefer to put up original designs, and keep in mind, we’re not going to be able to put up everyone’s art, but we’re always interested to see what you’ve come up with.

Last week, Oblivion fan Bradley Chick e-mailed me to let me know about Oblivion-related comics he creates on his site, Septim’s Pride. Using characters and screens from within the game, he creates short comics. It’s kind of like to doing Red vs. Blue, yet in comic format.

His most recent post is soon to be a favorite around our office…thanks for the props!
